An Amtrak NPCU leads combined trains 49 (Lake Shore Limited) and 29 (Capitol Limited) on Amtrak's Michigan Corridor line (home of the Blue Water and Wolverine service). These trains were rerouted through Michigan this day due a derailment at Waterloo, Indiana that blocked both mains. The combined train reached Michigan via Toledo, Ohio and got back onto home rails here at Porter to continue their trip to Chicago. Compared to the last time these two traveled through Michigan (back in 2007), there we no passengers aboard the train but today, this train was loaded (though both trains were operating several hours behind schedule - it was 3:50pm CT when it passed through Porter - passengers got rare of view of Michigan). |
